Privacy Policy
This policy describes how ComeAlong (“ComeAlong”, “走嘛”) handles your information. ComeAlong is published by Pulse and Purpose, a registered DBA of APRIL’S CHOICE LLC (“we”, “us”). We built it to be privacy-first: you share with the people you choose, and we collect only what’s needed to run the app. By using ComeAlong you agree to this policy.
In plain English
- Your phone number is used only to sign you in.
- We never upload or store your contacts.
- Your location is shared only when you choose — per plan, with that circle.
- We don’t sell your data, don’t run ads, and don’t use your content to train AI.
1. Information we collect
- Phone number. To create your account and verify it with a one-time SMS code.
- Profile. The display name you choose and an optional photo (without one we show colored initials).
- Circles & membership. The circles you create or join and who is in them.
- Plans. What you post (time, the place you select, free-text details), who’s coming, and chat messages in a circle or on a plan.
- Your group members. Names, an optional note, and a type (child, dog, cat, or adult) for the kids, pets, or people you add to your own account.
- Location. Off by default. When you turn it on, ComeAlong uses your location only around live plans you’ve joined, to update your status for that circle (on the way, then arrived). During that plan it can continue in the background, with the iOS blue location indicator visible the whole time, and stops as soon as the plan ends or you leave. Public plans you post show on the map at a deliberately fuzzed location. We never use your location outside a live plan you joined, and never for ads.
- Device basics. A push token (if you enable notifications) and standard technical logs to operate and secure the service.
2. What we do not do
- We don’t upload, store, or sell your phone’s contacts. Optional contact matching runs on your device and only ever sends hashed phone numbers — your address book never leaves your phone.
- We don’t track your location outside a live plan you’ve joined and turned location on for. Any background location is limited to that plan, with the iOS blue indicator visible, and it stops when the plan ends.
- We don’t use your data for third-party advertising, sell it, or use your content to train AI models.
3. How we use information
- To run the service: show plans to your circles, let people join, place them on the map, and deliver chat and notifications.
- To verify your phone number and keep accounts secure.
- To protect ComeAlong and its users from spam, abuse, and fraud, and to comply with the law.
4. Sharing
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with the trusted processors who run ComeAlong for us:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and hosting (United States).
- Twilio — sending your one-time SMS verification code.
- Apple Push Notification service — delivering notifications, if you enable them.
They process data only to provide these services. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect people’s safety.
5. Cookies and tracking
The ComeAlong app uses no advertising or cross-app tracking, and this website uses no tracking or advertising cookies.
6. Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account we delete the associated data, except limited records we must keep for legal or security reasons. Past plans stay in your circle’s history for up to 180 days, then drop from view.
7. Data security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access is enforced by row-level security, so only you and the circles you belong to can see what’s meant for them. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
8. Your rights
You can edit your profile, leave circles, delete plans, and turn location sharing off at any time. You can delete your account and its data in the app (Me → About → Delete account) or by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the CCPA/CPRA or GDPR (to access, correct, delete, or port your data); contact us to exercise them, and we won’t discriminate against you for it.
9. Children’s privacy
ComeAlong is intended for adults (18+). Accounts are created and managed by adults. The kids and pets in your group are profiles an adult adds and controls — children don’t create accounts or use the app directly, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child gave us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
10. International users
ComeAlong is operated from, and your data is processed in, the United States. By using the app you understand your information will be processed there.
11. Changes & contact
We may update this policy as the app evolves; we’ll revise the date above and, for material changes, post a notice in the app. Questions or requests? Email hello@pulseandpurpose.net — we’ll get back to you.
